Thor: Ragnarok - Film Review

Well, Thor: Ragnarok came out today and I saw it, and I gotta say... it's great. This is definitely the best of the Thor movies. Thor and Thor: The Dark World were ok, but they weren't the best of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, rather low in terms of greatness. I actually didn't watch those two until just a few days ago, but that's beside the point.

Plot
Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk, his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor's quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.

Review
Thor: Ragnarok is much better than the first two Thor films, which you should watch and both Avengers films before this, and probably the most humorous MCU film, more than Guardians of the Galaxy.

Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song is actually in the movie, and not just for the trailers. Looking at you, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, putting Fox on the Run and Suffragette City in the actual movies wouldn't be that hard. Even an instrumental of Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is in it.

Taika Waititi is a great director despite this being the only film I've seen from him, I even loved his character Korg. Pretty much everyone was great in this, even Stan Lee's cameo was hilarious.

Chris Hemsworth's great, Tom Hiddleston's great, Jeff Goldblum's great. Everyone is great in this.

This is my favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe film of 2017, loved it more than Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 or Spider-Man: Homecoming. It's like the three MCU films of this year are better than the one before it.

Overall, Thor Ragnarok is great, best of the Thor movies, and best MCU film of 2017. I highly recommend seeing it (not before watching Thor 1 and 2 and Avengers 1 and 2, though).

9/10
