BlacKkKlansman - Film Review

Image
I think they're taking Star Wars in a new direction. BlacKkKlansman is directed by Spike Lee and stars John David Washington, Adam Driver, Laura Harrier, and Topher Grace. Plot Ron Stallworth (John David Washington), an African-American police officer from Colorado, successfully manages to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan with the help of a white surrogate, who eventually becomes head of the local branch. Review BlacKkKlansman is actually pretty great. It's got some great social commentary on racism and it's pretty entertaining in some parts. When I saw the trailer, I didn't know if it was going to be a comedy or not, because it showed some of the entertaining moments, and looked like a throwback to the old Blaxploitation movies of the 1970's, but it's actually a drama, and a really good one at that. It talks about racism in the 1970's and it still applies today, as they showed footage from several riots back in 2017 and they also show footage f

Mission: Impossible - Fallout - Film Review

Mission: Impossithon Day 6 Mission: Impossible - Fallout is directed by Christopher McQuarrie and stars Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin, Sean Harris, Angela Bassett, and Michelle Monaghan. Plot Ethan Hunt and his IMF team, along with some familiar allies, race against time after a mission gone wrong. Review Oh my god. This movie is phenomenal. Not only is Mission: Impossible - Fallout  the best movie in the Mission: Impossible series, it's also one the the best action movies I have ever seen. I'm not even going to go into spoilers on the movie, I want you guys to see it for yourself if you haven't. This has some of the best action ever put to film. And it's not just the action that's amazing. Seeing IMF working together as a team in the movie is great. The scene in the bathroom is an amazing scene. It's rather early on, but it is awesome. The scene with the two helicopters is just great. So is t

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation - Film Review

Mission: Impossithon Day 5 Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation is directed by Christopher McQuarrie and stars Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Ving Rhames, Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris, and Alec Baldwin. Plot Ethan Hunt is labeled as a rogue agent after the IMF is disavowed by the CIA. The CIA believes that the Syndicate is a figment of Ethan's imagination so they try desperately to take him in. Meanwhile, the Syndicate grows stronger and a British Secret agent who is undercover as a member of the Syndicate, joins with Ethan and his team to take down the Syndicate at last. Review Is it me, or does this series get better with each movie? (excluding the second, of course). This movie takes the good parts of all the Mission: Impossible movies, shoves them in a blender, and we get Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation  and it's great. This movie reminds me most of the first one and Ghost Protocol . The really good suspense of Mission: Impossible , and the amazing act

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol - Film Review

Mission: Impossithon Day 4 Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol is directed by Brad Bird and stars Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Michael Nyqvist, and Paula Patton. Plot Ethan Hunt is broken out of a Russian prison by IMF team members and begins his search for an international terrorist who has successfully stolen Russian arming codes for their nuclear missiles. They must first identify him and the only way to do so is to break into the Kremlin archives. The end result is that much of the Kremlin is destroyed and now Russian agents are after the IMF. They track the thief, now identified as Kurt Hendricks (Michael Nyqvist), to Dubai where an attempt to con him out of the codes fail. They then follow him to Mumbai where it's believed he will transmit the signals to launch the Russian missiles at the USA. Review I think this one is better than Mission: Impossible III . It's amazing how Brad Bird, who directed The Incredibles and Ratatouille  could make a great

Mission: Impossible III - Film Review

Mission: Impossithon Day 3 Mission: Impossible III is directed by J. J. Abrams and stars Tom Cruise, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ving Rhames, Billy Crudup, Michelle Monaghan, Keri Russell, and Lawrence Fishburne. Plot IMF Agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise, of course) comes into conflict with a dangerous and sadistic arms dealer (Philip Seymour Hoffman) who threatens his life and his fiancee in response. Review I wasn't expecting my 100th review to be Mission: Impossible III . Well this was a major improvement over Mission: Impossible 2 and I think I like this movie a little more than the first Mission: Impossible. This film is also way more exciting than Mission: Impossible 2 . That movie was just boring, but this movie, it's almost action from start to finish, and it's actually interesting. There's an action scene on a bridge where people who work for Owen Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman) rescue him after he was kidnapped by IMF, and it's some really good act

Mission: Impossible 2 - Film Review

Mission: Impossithon Day 2 Mission: Impossible 2 is directed by John Woo, and stars Tom Cruise, Thandie Newton, Ving Rhames, Dougray Scott, Richard Roxburgh, and Anthony Hopkins. Plot IMF Agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise, again) is sent to Sydney, to find and destroy a genetically modified disease called "Chimera". Review I didn't like this movie much, it's pretty forgettable. The first hour is slow and the action doesn't pick up as much until the second act. And I just couldn't get invested in it. I don't even remember some of the characters names, so I'll just refer to them by the actors' names. Also, if your movie is already as slow as Mission: Impossible 2 is, don't overuse slow-mo as much as Mission: Impossible 2 does. Also, this film originally had a 3 1/2 hour long cut. I'll pass on that. I will say, the movie is shot very well and some of the action scenes do look really good, but it's not enough to save this movie for

Mission: Impossible - Film Review

Mission: Impossithon Day 1 Time for another marathon! Mission: Impossible is directed by Brian De Palma and stars Tom Cruise, Jon Voight, Emmanuelle BĂ©art, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Redgrave, Henry Czerny, and Jean Reno. Plot Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is a secret agent framed for the deaths of his espionage team. Fleeing from government assassins, breaking into the CIA's most impenetrable vault, clinging to the roof of a speeding bullet train, Hunt races like a burning fuse to stay one step ahead of his pursuers and draw one step closer to discovering the truth. Review I'm seeing Mission: Impossible - Fallout in a few days so I figured I would marathon all of the Mission: Impossible movies. This is actually my first time watching all of these movies, and from what I've heard, I was excited to go in this series, and this movie didn't disappoint. It's got some amazing scenes in it. The best scene in the movie to me is when Ethan is hanging from the ceiling to g
