Solo: A Star Wars Story - Spoiler Talk

Image
Not doing this for every single movie ever, mostly for big stuff like superhero movies (not all superhero movies) or Star Wars movies. I mentioned in my review of Solo: A Star Wars Story that there were things that I liked and things that I didn't like. I want to go into more detail on what I did and didn't like. I think I'll get into what I didn't like first, so that way I'll end it with what I did like. I didn't like the part where they show how Han Solo got his last name. Why couldn't they just leave it as Solo is his last name? After he gets separated from Qi'ra on Corellia, he applies to be an Imperial pilot and he's asked for his name, which he gives, and then he's asked for his family or people, and Han says he has no people, and the Imperial officer says that he's going to call him Solo. Really?! The opening part was good, except for that scene. The movie felt like it was just putting whatever they wanted about Han Solo that...

Solo: A Star Wars Story - Film Review

Image
Solo: A Star Wars Story is directed by Ron Howard and stars Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton, Joonas Suotamo, and Paul Bettany. Plot With the emerging demand of hyperfuel and other resources, Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) finds himself in the middle of a heist alongside other criminals, where they meet the likes of Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) and Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) in an adventurous situation exposing the criminal underworld of the Star Wars saga. Review I will say that there are quite a few things I liked about Solo: A Star Wars Story , but there were a few things I didn't like about Solo: A Star Wars Story . I don't want to get too much into what I thought about the movie because this is a spoiler review and I will make one of those later. I think that this may be my least favorite of the Disney series so far, as I was slightly disappointed. There are some positives though. The hyperspace scenes look amazi...

Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Re-Review

Image
Figured I could squeeze in one more Star Wars review before I see Solo . I wanted to rewatch this movie and give some more thoughts on it. I picked up the Blu-Ray a few days ago and watched it twice since I saw it in theaters and see if any of my thoughts have changed any. Another reason I wanted to see if my thoughts have changed was because this is probably the most divisive movie in the entire Star Wars saga. Some love it, some hate it. Some of the ones who hate it even call it the worst movie in the whole franchise. Wow. As some of you probably saw in my original review , I said that I loved this movie. I still do, but I want to go more into why I love it and don't get the hate. To be honest, I just had very few flaws with it, not all the humor works, wasn't a fan of Vice Admiral Holdo, and I do think Canto Bight should've been trimmed down a bit. I know I'm not the only one who loves this movie, as there are lots of videos on YouTube showing that people lov...

Ewoks: The Battle for Endor - Film Review

Image
Ewoks: The Battle for Endor is directed by Jim and Ken Wheat and stars Wilford Brimley, Warwick Davis, Aubrey Miller, Paul Gleason, Carel Struycken, and Siân Phillips. Plot Marauders raid the Ewok village and steal a power supply they believe to be magical. Wicket helps Cindel escape the evil witch Charal (Siân Phillips), and they befriend a hermit (Wilford Brimley) who may help them save the village. Review Well this film is definitely an improvement over Caravan of Courage . This film doesn't take forever to get the plot going and it's not as slow or dull as the first movie. It's still not good though. This film starts off very dark compared to Caravan of Courage , this movie starts with the Marauders attacking the Ewok village and killing Cindel's family. At least we only get Mace's bad acting for about a minute though. Also, Cindel's father has a different actor in here than in the first movie. In Caravan of Courage  he was played by Guy Boyd, but ...

Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure - Film Review

Image
I wanted to knock this and The Battle for Endor  out before I see Solo . Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure is directed by John Korty, and stars Eric Walker, Warwick Davis, Fionnula Flanagan, Guy Boyd, Aubrey Miller, and narrated by Burl Ives. Plot Set before Return of the Jedi,  Wicket the Ewok (Warwick Davis) and his friends agree to help two shipwrecked human children, Mace and Cindel (Eric Walker, Aubrey Miller), on a quest to find their parents. Review Not entirely sure where to start with this one. I was going to review this for the Forcethon I held last year in hype for The Last Jedi , but I couldn't find them. But I found these online and I figured I would review them before I see Solo: A Star Wars Story . According to the now defunct Expanded Universe webpage on the Star Wars  website , this film and it's sequel are set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. That's when I was going to watch them during the marathon. It seems...

Deadpool 2 - Spoiler Talk

Image
This isn't an official review of Deadpool 2 , but it's just talking about some spoilers that I couldn't talk abo otut in my regular review. There is a lot to talk about and that I want to talk about, so I'll talk about that stuff here. Also, I'm not going into every single plot point in the movie, that would be impossible, just talking about what I remember. Ok, something I was not expecting in the beginning was Vanessa's death. After Deadpool kills some bad guys in a building, more show up and Deadpool escapes and gets into Dopinder's cab. When he gets back home, Wade and Vanessa celebrate their anniversary and plan to start a family. The same guys that Deadpool run away from show up at his apartment. Wade kills most of them except for one who shoots Vanessa. Wade then goes out and kills the man, but blames himself for her death. Also, most of the X-Force just die right off the bat. Zeitgeist (Bill Skarsgard), Bedlam (Terry Crews), Shatterstar (Lewi...

Deadpool 2 - Film Review

Image
Deadpool 2 is directed by David Leitch and stars Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, T. J. Miller, Zazie Beetz, Julian Dennison, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapicic, Bill Skarsgard, Terry Crews, Leslie Uggams, Shioli Kutsuna, and Karan Soli Plot After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry's hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the Yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor - finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World's Best Lover. Ok, that's not the real plot. The real plot is Deadpool starting a superhero team, the X-Force, to stop Cable from killing a young mutant. Review Ok, this is a comple...

Deadpool - Film Review

Image
Deadpool is directed by an overpaid tool and stars God's perfect idiot, a hot chick, a British villain, the comic relief, a moody teen, a CGI character, and a gratuitous cameo. Plot This is the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds), who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life (Ed Skrien). Review I'm not entirely sure where to start with this review, there is a lot to talk about. I'd say that this movie is a revenge story, love story, superhero movie, and origin story all in one. It's great at doing all of those things together. This film is way better than X-Men Origins: Wolverine , we know how that went. They even make fun of it by showing an action figure of Deadpool from that movie. They also make ...

A Quiet Place - Film Review

Image
A Quiet Place is directed by John Krasinski and stars him, his IRL wife Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe. Plot Two parents do what it takes to keep their children and soon to be newborn safe in a world full of creatures hunting every sound they can hear. Not a sound can be heard from the family hiding in silence, but all it takes is one noise and everything can go wrong. Review I'm probably the last person who saw this movie. It came out a little over a month ago at time of writing, and I just saw it today. At first I wasn't too interested in seeing it, but after hearing how positive the reaction was I decided to check it out. Ryan Reynolds thought it was so good that he adopted John Krasinski and Emily Blunt as his new parents. The movie itself is great, it's probably the best horror film we I've seen so far this year, the other ones I saw were Insidious: The Last Key  and The Open House , but we don't talk about the latter. This movie i...

SPOILER FREE - Avengers: Infinity War - Film Review

Image
Infinitython Conclusion THIS REVIEW IS COMPLETELY SPOILER FREE! Avengers: Infinity War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and stars everybody. Plot Now that Earth has put its mark on the universe through the Avengers, all superheroes, including ones from other parts of the Galaxy, need to join forces to stop the powerful Thanos from taking all the infinity stones and destroying the universe one planet at a time. Review This is going to be a short review, there's not much I can say without spoiling it. Well this was something. I loved the movie, it's a blast, but it's not quite my favorite, it's in the top 5 though but I can't really go into why. Without spoiling, the movie never looks like this  but they're all three separate stories set at the same time, there's some characters on Titan, some characters in space, and some on Earth. The characters are really good in here, but again I can't really say much about them. I now want to t...
