The Incredible Hulk - Film Review

Infinitython Day 1

The Incredible Hulk is directed by Louis Leterrier and stars Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, Tim Roth, and William Hurt.

Plot
After surviving a deadly gamma radiation accident, scientist Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) travels the world in search for a cure to his inner force of rage that turns him into a massive green monster known as the Hulk. Though he is close, Banner must watch out because General Ross (William Hurt) and his team are searching for him and want to use his condition for military weaponry. Running out of time and options, Banner turns to his ex Betty Ross (Liv Tyler) for help. Meanwhile, a new threat rises as power hungry soldier Emil Blonksy (Tim Roth) turns into a deadlier and more terrifying beast that can match even the Hulk's powers.

Review
Although this film came out the same year as Iron Man, it's not as good as Iron Man was. It's fine.

This movie really doesn't have much to talk about, so this review isn't as detailed as some of my others.

This is usually viewed by fans to be toward the bottom of MCU in terms of quality, I think so too, but it does have some good parts, such as...

The scene with Bruce at the college and he turns into the Hulk and fights the military is pretty cool, so is the fight with Emil aka Abomination in the city is also pretty awesome, but it's probably the best part of the movie.

Also, the opening with Bruce hiding in Venezuela and working in the soda factory is good, but the other scenes with Bruce by himself or talking over the Internet with Mr. Blue, it's a little boring.

The CGI doesn't look that good in certain scenes either, the fight with Abomination and Hulk looks like a video game cutscene.

The cast is good, Edward Norton is good as Hulk, but not better than Mark Ruffalo or Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno, but he's better than Eric Bana. I can't think of much to say about him. His Hulk scenes are good, like when he's in the dark at first, but then you see him in the light at the college is pretty cool, and his scenes with Betty aren't bad.

Liv Tyler's not bad as Betty, she's General Thunderbolt Ross's daughter and Bruce's love interest. Can't think of much to say.

Tim Roth is good as Emil Blonsky, he's a very power hungry soldier who wants the Hulk's blood for himself and he becomes Abomination after he's injected with it.

William Hurt is good as General Ross, he wants Bruce's blood to use it as a weapon and he is Betty's father. Yeah, he's good in it.

Overall, The Incredible Hulk is a fine superhero movie, it's definitely not one of my favorites of the MCU, even though I thought it was one of the awesomest things ever when I was younger. It's better than Ang Lee's Hulk.

The Incredible Hulk gets a 7/10.

Later tonight I will have a review of Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan and tomorrow I'm going back to one review a day with Iron Man 2.
