Bright - Film Review

I may be sick, but at least I get to reveiw Bright.

Bright is directed by David Ayer and stars Will Smith, Joel Edgerton, Lucy Fry and Noomi Rapace.

Plot
Set in a world where mystical creatures live side by side with humans. A human cop, Daryl Ward (Will Smith) is forced to work with an Orc (Joel Edgerton) to find a weapon everyone is prepared to kill for.

Review
I don't know where to start, I really don't like this movie.

This film's premise is interesting, humans and mythical creatures living side by side, but fails in every way.

I should also mention that the guy who directed this directed Suicide Squad, which I reviewed last month. Suicide Squad is much better than Bright.

I really don't remember much about the story as this is a very forgettable movie. It has very slow pacing too, I kept checking to see how much longer I had left to watch. There's a lot of stuff that could have been cut from a movie that's just a little under two hours. This is one of my least favorite films of the year, it's better than Tom and Jerry: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, but worse than Death Note.

All I can really remember is that there were Orcs, fairies, elves, a magic wand, Will Smith, discrimination against Orcs, wow, this thing is forgettable.

Let's talk about the characters. Will Smith is ok as Daryl Ward, an LAPD officer. The only reason I know that is his name is because I found out his first name online when I was looking up the cast for this movie and his last name because I heard it just randomly in the movie. He's rather forgettable.

Joel Edgerton is alright as Nick Jakoby, the first ever Orc cop, and is partnered with Daryl. The only reason I know his name is because I heard his first name just somewhere in there and his last name is on his uniform.

Lisa Fry is forgettable as Tikka, a young elf who has the magic wand. I remember almost nothing about her except she stole the wand and she spoke Elvish. I didn't know her name until after I watched this movie and looked it up online.

Noomi Rapace is Leilah, a dark elf who wants the magic want. And that's about it. How I discovered her name is the same as almost all the people I mentioned above.

Sorry this review probably didn't come out great, but I'm having trouble remembering this thing, and I don't want to say the word "forgettable" in this review.

Overall, don't watch this movie. Just don't. I heard there's going to be a sequel for this thing. No, I am not bothering with the sequel.

Tomorrow is my ranking of the movies I saw this year, and this film will be pretty low on the list.

3/10
